
Dr. Mutiu Sunmonu, CON is the former Country Chairman of Shell Companies in Nigeria, where he oversaw a portfolio valued at over $30 billion across multiple assets and subsidiaries. During this period, he also served concurrently as Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria and Shell’s Vice President, Production, Sub-Saharan Africa.
He later became Chairman of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, West Africa’s largest construction company, and currently serves as Chairman of ILF Nigeria, the local arm of the global engineering and consultancy group headquartered in Austria.
Dr. Sunmonu sits on the boards of several companies in the aviation, financial services, and real estate sectors. He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Unilever Nigeria Plc, Chancellor of McPherson University, and a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE).
He is a distinguished recipient of numerous honours, including the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), one of Nigeria’s highest national awards for exceptional service and contribution to national development.

Mr. Olu Fagbemi is a graduate of Politics and International Relations from Coventry University, with postgraduate studies in War and Strategy at King’s College London. He is also an alumnus of the Wharton Business School in Philadelphia.
As Executive Chairman, he provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the company. His responsibilities include driving long-range strategic planning, developing the company’s business plan, and ensuring the effective execution of initiatives required to achieve organisational objectives.
He also oversees the group’s portfolio strategies, guiding the expansion of existing businesses and the development of new or complementary ventures that leverage integration, synergy, and emerging opportunities. In addition, he supervises marketing activities across all business units to ensure alignment with the company’s broader growth priorities.
With his extensive knowledge and experience, Mr. Fagbemi plays a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the company’s strategic vision.

Mr. Toriola is an accomplished E&P professional with extensive experience in the energy industry. He has held senior leadership roles across the Energy and Energy Finance sectors, overseeing acquisitions, start-ups, operations, asset development, and post-acquisition integration. His expertise spans business development, project execution, portfolio management, and asset rationalisation across the hydrocarbon value chain.
In Nigeria, he has played a pivotal role in the establishment and financing of three oil and gas companies, each involving the successful acquisition of assets divested by multinational operators. He has helped raise more than $3 billion to support these transactions. Following the acquisition of OML 24 from Shell, he served as Managing Director of Newcross Exploration & Production Limited.
